Kheng Hock Keong Chinese Temple
info Kheng Hock Keong Chinese Temple (ခိန့်ဟုတ် ဗုဒ္ဓဘာသာဘုရားကျောင်း) is located on the corner of Sinn Oo Dan Street and Strand Road in Latha Township, Yangon, Myanmar.
It is the largest and oldest Chinese Buddhist and Taoist temple dedicated to the Chinese goddess Mazu. It was originally built as a wooden temple in the Fujian style in 1861 and completed in 1863, on a tax-exempt plot of land granted by the British authorities. The founding Kheng Hock Keong Trust Committee was composed of Yangon's largest Hokkien clans, representing the Chan-Khoo, Lim, Tan, Yeo, Lee, and Su clans. A new brick building was constructed in 1903.
