info Bogyoke Aung San (ဗိုလ်ချုပ်အောင်ဆန်း) meaning General Aung San, was the hero who fought for the Independence of Myanmar.
He was assassinated on 1947 July 19th by Galone U Saw and his companions. After his death, Bogyoke's Home became the museum for the public, to go and see during the memorial days. The museum was established in 1962, at No.15, Bogyoke Museum Lane, Bahan Township near Kandawgyi Lake. It is a two storey building built during the colonial time. Several old family photos, famous speeches and other personal mementos such as handwritten noone can be seen inside the museum.

For many years, the museum was opened only for the Martyrs' Day of 19 July. But the museum formally reopened on 24 March 2012. It is open Tuesday through Sunday from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, except on public holidays. Admission costs 5,000 MMK for foreigners and is free for locals.
The museum is listed on the Yangon City Heritage List.
