info The Shwe Indein Pagoda (ရွှေအင်းတိန် မြတ်စွာဘုရား) is a gathering of Buddhist pagodas in the town of Indein, close Ywama and Inlay Lake in Shan State, Burma.
The pagodas were dispatched amid the rule of King Narapatisithu. However, convention holds that they were worked by King Ashoka (referred to in Burmese as Dhammasoka), and restored by King Anawrahta. However, there is no archeological proof to bolster this theory.
