Sagaing (Around Mandalay)
info Sagaing (စစ်ကိုင်းမြို့) is the capital of Sagaing Division in Myanmar.
It is located on the Ayeyarwady River, 20 km to the southwest of Mandalay on the opposite bank of the river. Sagaing is a religious and monastic center, with numerous Buddhist monasteries. It briefly regained its position as a royal capital of Burma from 1760-1764.

The British built a 16 span Innwa Bridge connects Sagaing with Mandalay, crossing the mighty Ayeyarwaddy River. It was built in 1934. Sagaing is renowned for its silversmith works at Ywa Htaung quarters and also pottery at Nwe Nyein village.

Padamya Zedi Pagoda
The Padamya Zedi Pagoda dates from 1300 while the Umin Thonesè or Thirty Caves Pagoda has many Buddha images in a crescent shaped colonnade. Mural paintings can be seen in the Tilawkaguru cave temple, which was built around 1672. At the nearby village of Ywahtaung, you can see silver workers producing bowls and other silver items by traditional methods.
Sagaing Bridge
The new Sagaing Bridge is also called Yadanabon Bridge. It lies at a place, about 2000ft (610m) upstream of Inwa Bridge.

Shin Phyu Shin Hla Pagoda
Shin Pyu Shin Hla Pagoda, 123ft (37m) in height was built by the powerful King Mani Sithu of Bagan, in AD 1095. It received its name from the fact that two images of the Buddha, called Shin Pyu and Shin Hla respectively, were interned in the pagoda by this king.

Htuparyon Pagoda
Htuparyon Pagoda was built by the Inwa King Narapati in 1444 AD. Located on the bank of the Ayeyarwaddy River to the south of Sagaing, this 90ft (27m) high Pagoda is unique because of its circular plan of a three-storey stupa.
Tilawkaguru Cave Monastery
Tilawkaguru Cave monastery is one of the monasteries on the Sagaing hillside. It was a meditation caves which was built around 1672. Bright reds, yellows, blues but especially turquoise that produced richer more vivid mural paintings still can be seen in the Tilawkaguru Meditation Caves.
