Wax-Flavored Thingyan Rice
Yes. That's right. You read it correctly. Wax is not supposed to be eaten. Wax in rice sounds really weired. Isn't it? It is quite common that wax is applied to preserve fruits, such as lemon, apples, and so on.
Myanmars have a special kind of seasonal food, dedicated to serve during Myanmar new year water festival, commonly called as Thingyan Rice (သင်္ကြန်ထမင်း). Originally it was a tradition of the Mons. But now, all the southerners and Myanmars enjoy during the Myanmar new year time.
