info Sagaing Fortress or Asekhan Fortress is located at Asekhan Quarter which is south to north of Sagaing near the west bank of Ayeyarwaddy River.
During the reign of King Mindon, the French and Italian engineers built this fortress with cooperation of Myanmar engineers. It is south to north about 240ft (73m) and east to west 320ft (98m).
