The Rander House is a five-storey building that is built in a later architectural style compared to Sofaer's Building across the road. It was built in 1932 by Surti Indian traders who came from Rander, a port town in Gujurat, India. The building stands at the beginning of a remarkable, almost uninterrupted, vista of colonial-era buildings on the lower block of Pansodan Street between Merchant Road and Strand Road.
Part of the building is currently occupied by the Internal Revenue Department.
