info Htuparyon Pagoda was built by the Inwa King Narapati in 1444 AD. Located on the bank of the Ayeyarwaddy River to the south of Sagaing. this 90ft (27m) high Pagoda is unique because of its circular plan of a three-storey stupa.

info It is the ruined Mingun Paya. a Buddhist temple with the remains of a massive stupa begun by King Bodawpaya in 1790. If the constrution had been completed. it would have been the largest in the world at 150 meters. It was again damaged by 1838 earthquake.

info The world's largest ringing bell. Mingun Bell {picture}. is still hung in Sagaing and can still ring. The city of Sagaing is just opposite of Mandalay. It is 26 feet high and weighs 90.55 metric tons (55555 peik-thar*). That's the white text written on the bell. saying "55555".

As with Monywa. the city is a trade center for agricultural produce. especially beans. rice and sesame from the surrounding plains between the Mu and the Ayeyarwady River.
