Is "Americano" Another Nationality? A New Ethnicity?

It is a widely known historical fact that illegal immigrants of Mexico in the United States, very often identify themselves as Americano (an American, or ABM -- American-born Mexican). "Americano" is the Spanish term, meaning "American". Could this word "Americano" be a new ethnicity?

American => Americano

No way. Right? It is just a different term of the same thing, in another language. So read on..

As simple as that. Rohingya is just a different term of the same thing, in another language. One needs to understand the fact that Bengali-language speakers have a hard time pronouncing the Myanmar/Burmese syllable "tha" (meaning 'native').

Rakhinetha => Rohingya

History of the Word "Rohingya" (Rakhine-Tha)

The First Ever Usage of the word "Rohingya"

Our research went through as many as 8 million (8,188,000+) pages of news papers from all over the world, from 1795 untill today. Newly invented, the first ever appearance of the word ‘Rohingya’ was found in Press-Republican newspaper, Plattsburgh, New York, USA, very recently in 1990s.

To be exact, this term describing a new tribe was published on page 2 of Press-Republican newspaper, on 23 Nov 1992 issue. This is a solid proof that that there is no such thing as ethnic Rohingya tribe historically. The British government collected national census data in British India and British Burma, periodically from 1865 onward to 1947. There was not a single human being called Rohingya in 1947 in existance. You might wonder why.

How the new term, Rohingya  Emerged

After a lot of research and interviews, this possible logical explanation was found. Rakhine people are the best witnesses for your research.

  1. Whenever illegal immigrants were caught in the border region, they have a common practice of telling a lie to Myanmar immigration and Police officers that they are just the natives of Rakhine, a Rakhine-tha ("ရခိုင်သား" in Myanmar language). People in the remote countryside simply do not carry their ID cards anyway.
  2. If they answer that they are Bangladeshi, they used to get arrested or deported (for illegal immigration).
  3. But if they answer that they are Rakhine-tha, "ရခိုင် သား" (meaning natives of Rakhine State),  Police usually let them go.

Like Mexicans in the United States, while trying to be identified as "natives", Mexicans used to tell others that they are Americano. Illegal immigrants have to tell Police that they are Rakhine-tha "ရခိုင်သား" (pronounced as Rakhine-tha in Myanmar langauge). Based on this, western reporters from Doctors without Borders, seems to spell it in their own way, as Rohingya, for the very first time, in their 1992 report. Since then, illegal immigrants' mispronunciation of "Rakhinetha", was somehow accidentally coined as a new term.
