Around Mawlamyaing

Mudon - A town 29km south of Mawlamyaing. The town is known for the cotton weaving.

Kyauktalone Daung and Yadana Daung - Between Mawlamyaing and Mudon. The former one is a flat-topped limestone crag with small pagodas on it. On the other hilltop. a huge reclining buddha image. The image is known to be 160 meters long.

Kyaikmaraw - A small charming town 24km southeast of Mawlamyaing.

Kyaikmaraw Pagoda - Built by Queen Shinsawpu in 1455.

Thanbyuzayat - about 64km south of Mawlamyaing. The "Death Railway" is located in this region. The Thanbyuzayat War Cementery has 3771 graves of Allied POWs who died building the railway.

Kyaikkami - About 24km northeast of Thanbyuzayat. It is a small coastal resort and missionary centre.

Kyaikkami Yeylel Pagoda - A metal roofed pagoda. where the complex perched over the sea and reached via a long two level causeway. The lower level is submerged during high tide.

Setse Beach - This beach lies on the Gulf of Mottama. About 24km from Kyaikkami. It is a wide beach with brown color sand. The beach is lined by casuarinas trees.
